Useful Storage Solutions for Home Owners (Part 2)

In the previous part we at Wilson Fink Kitchen and Interiors gave home owners four new ideas to improve the storage capacity in their cooking space. If they worked well for you then, here are few more storage solutions for your home that will give it a more neat and clean look.

Rolling Shelf

People who have kitchens with low storage space always struggle to find a place to keep different things. The best advice for such people is that they should get a two-wheel rolling shelf. The tiered shelf will not only give them more room to store things especially odd shaped items and small appliances like toaster, but also serve as an extra countertop whenever or wherever they need it. Given that one day they can use it as a baking station and other day they can use to peel the vegetables and fruits.

Place Kitchen Tools Within Your Reach

Whenever, you will consult an expert about the arrangement of your kitchen they will always advise you to place the things in an order so you would not face any problem in using them. In short, it means that place your kitchen tools like spoons, spatulas and more close to your stove, so they should remain within your reach at all times. It is often seen that people stuff jars with spoons and spatulas but keep it away from the stove rather than placing it in the centre or front. Thus, one should think before placing their regularly used kitchen tools, so they would not have to waste time and energy in grabbing them every time.

Baskets are Forever

Many believe that baskets are now out of fashion, but in actual fact they are immortal and will remain around us till the end, as they are extremely useful when it comes to storing things smartly. Baskets can take the place of bins that many people use in their kitchens to cover dead spaces. And the best way to do so is by installing couple of shelves at such a place. Then, place some baskets over them and you will have a great new storing place for your tools and other stuff.

Hide Appliances

Those days are gone when rarely-used appliances used to block your view or hog your shelves, as today designers like to hide them behind cabinet doors. Thus, now you would not have to keep your microwave, toaster or any other rarely-used appliance at a countertop, as cleaner look is the latest trend. Moreover, it favours you by giving you more free space for other items.

Useful Storage Solutions for Home Owners (Part 1)

Wilson Fink Kitchen & Interiors has always tried its best to give its customers in the UK best storage solutions. It is because of this very reason the dedicated and skillful team of Wilson Fink has introduced a wide variety of kitchen and interior designs. Besides that Wilson Fink also likes to give people useful tips regarding storage and decoration of homes. So maintaining the tradition the British interior designing firm has listed some useful tips for home owners that will enable them to store their things more easily in kitchen.

Use Vintage Cabinets:

Sometimes it happens that small things either get lost or look bit messy in big drawers or cabinets. To avoid this problem the best solution is that home owners should either get a vintage cabinet or library card catalogs. Given that it will enable them to store as many small items as they can because it offer multiple stories that displays small things without giving a untidy look. You can easily get a vintage or old library card catalogs from an antique shop or any of the flea markets near you.

Stretch Storage Cabinets to the Top:

The biggest problem with kitchen storage is that majority of the home owners does not stretch their cabinets all the way to the top. As a result, they do not get enough space to store their kitchen items, but if they somehow manage to build up their cabinets in the cooking space it can prove quite useful. No matter whether you have built open shelves, wall of shelves or have a stylish pitched roof because sometimes building more is the solution of the problem.

Hang Pans and Pots on Side Bars:

It is often seen that some home owners hang their pots and pans on the hooks of the kitchen walls or with the pot rack. This particular storage solution just does not look very appealing in every house. Instead, it’s best to hang the most-used pans and pots on the side bar of a kitchen cabinet. In this way home owners will be able to keep their pans and pots out of a visitor’s sight, as they will not be hanging at eye level anymore.

Make Drawer for Vegetables:

Many home owners face problems when it comes to storing vegetables, as they lose all their freshness when kept in extreme or hot temperature. The best solution for this kind of storage is that home owns should make drawers for vegetables in which they will not only remain cool, but their freshness will also remain intact.Above all, such kind of storage will enable vegetables to last for more than a week time. So either make one or dedicate a drawer for vegetables in your kitchen because it will not only save you some bucks, but also keep the counter tops of your cooking space too.

Hottest Interior Trends of 2014 (Part 2)

Previously, we at Wilson Fink Kitchen and Interior have introduced you to four hottest interior trends of 2014. Now in this episode we will shed light on four new interior trends that will instantly gain your attention.

Hair on Hide:

One of the latest trends of this year is hair on cushions, consoles, couches, tables and settee. Although, this trend has not emerged for the first time, but now it seems to be steaming up as a number of designers have recently used it. Natural hair on hide, however, looks great, but there is a big controversy attached with it, as there is no shortage of big voices that are strongly against the use of animal skin. Nevertheless, this does not mean at all that there is no humane way to get hold of animal skins, as you can get the one which have no use once they are off.

Light Coloured Woods:

Lighter coloured woods is another way to make your interior look more luscious and tempting, as this trend is slowly becoming popular among the designers during this year. Thus, if you are looking to use these light coloured woods in your house then, cherry and oak are the two best options. Whether its durability, design or aesthetic appeal that you are after. The reason for recommending oak and cherry is that they both are high in quality and will prove a stylish and exquisite work of art for generations to come.

Use of Blue:

As far as the latest trend in colours is concerned blue has been declared as the hottest shade of the 2014. Given that it has been spotted nearly everywhere, whether it’s a catwalk on the ramp or exhibition of home design. Though, there is no harm in persisting with one shade, but if you are not comfortable with it then, you can always use various shades of blue like azure, cobalt, beryl, sapphire and teal. Besides these five shades of blue you can also go with navy blue, as it is also gains strong traction. The best thing about this hade is that it gives a soothing and pleasant feel to eyes. To further boost the look of your interior use soft shade cushions, cupboards and other accessories with blue.

Piquant Pineapples:

The piquant pineapple shade is one of the specific trends that can never be generalized, as you can see it home design exhibitions, prints, catwalks and designs. No matter where ever you use it pineapple simply looks delectable, so do not be shy to opt for this delicious shade.

Ethnic Prints:

Everlasting beige is now losing its lustre, so if you are looking to redo your interior then, ethnic print or fabrics should be your first choice. It is highly likely that in the coming days ethnic prints will become one of the most popular trends of this year. Thus, if you see an unusual print or covering of a cushion that is exuding culture do not shy away from buying it.

Floral Designs:

Besides ethnic prints, there is another trend that will swiftly grow in 2014 that is called floral design. This new trend is not only rising in the interior designing world, but also in the fashion industry too. Whenever, a trend emerges in two industries at the same time it usually stays in power for slightly long period. Thus, one can opt for floral designs without any hesitation, as besides being a hot trend you will see it popping out of every corner whether its interior designs, billboards, shops’ windows or commercials.

The amalgamation of indoors and outdoors is one of the latest trends, which more and more interior designers and manufacturers are now recommending to their clients. In order to give their interior space a unique and natural look, as you will find typical stones, bushes, big aquarium in your lounge or drawing room.
