Charming Mint Kitchen

Making house kitchen beautiful and attractive is not an easy task. People get different ideas from internet and used different and best material for kitchen.

What was the leading matter the design addressed?

Everything regarding the kitchen was out of harmony with the rest of the usual Georgian-style house.
Explain an obstacle in the space.

The cook top, sink & refrigerator were method too close to each other. The tiny window over the sink built the room feel closed in and did not permit enough normal light. By increasing the window & relocating the big refrigerator, the sink & cooktop could be situated farther away from each other. Under-counter refrigerator or big fridge drawers to the right of the new range top support the major food prep part, while the large refrigerator is now in a beverage/breakfast bar part.

How did the finish result match your new vision?

Our preplanning for the complete task was extremely careful. Laying out the ceiling beams was the main challenge & truly turned out better than we thought.

What are the hidden gems that make a large difference?

Corresponding display cases flanking the new entry to the dining room were stimulated by a characteristic at the du Pont Winterthur estate in Delaware. The owner collects & restores old light fixtures, containing the circa-1875 gas lantern over the island.

What lessons did you learn from this plan?

The new kitchen design started out with many extra cabinets. Lesson: Less is extra! With cautious planning for storage space, all those further cabinets were not required. Dishes stored in under-counter drawers with soft-close slides work huge. Bonus: a ideal and perfect spot for a superb traditional furniture piece.

Majority of the people when build or re-design a kitchen they prefer to go with contemporary look, but not everyone can create such a feel. Wilson Fink Kitchens and Interiors understand this fact therefore it has compiled a list of contemporary kitchen ideas that can help you design your dream cooking space.

Colourful Kitchens
One way to give your kitchen a modern feel is by adding colourful units or doors. There are several kitchen companies which supply doors and units for cooking space in variety of finishes and shades, so people can create a unique and modern look. Alternatively, you can use some vibrant colours on the walls of your kitchen and it will not cost you any fortune to update a cooking space in this way.

Sleek Touch
To add a sleek modern touch to your cooking space, opt for curved kitchen units and handle less doors. A carpenter or a reputable kitchen supplier can help you with this, but such units and doors do not come cheap. Nevertheless, if you manage to install them they can dramatically transform the look of your kitchen.

Wooden Kitchens
Today wood is not just used in bedrooms or other spaces of the house. They are also blatantly used in the kitchens too. Currently, there are two popular styles in wooden kitchen; dark wood style and light wood style. The dark wood style reveals the grains, whereas light wood is used to give a fresh feel. If you like to have a modern wooden kitchen without spending a lot of money then, veneer is the best and popular choice as compared to solid wood. Moreover, it is available in both dark and light shades.

Gloss Finish
Gloss finish is swiftly gaining popularity now days and you will be able to find many kitchens which are available in such finish. The best thing about the high gloss finish kitchen is that when it is teamed up with glass-fronted doors it completely revolutionizes your kitchen by giving it a chic and contemporary look. In case, you feel that a whole new gloss finish kitchen will be too expensive to buy then, you can neaten your current units by using gloss paint, but it would not give the same sheen.

New Kitchen Worktop
Replacing your old kitchen worktop with a new one is another inexpensive idea to modernize your cooking space. However, it will completely depend on the type of worktop that you will choose for your kitchen as solid or granite worktops are more expensive as compared to laminate worktops.

Black and White Kitchen
The most easiest and inexpensive way to modernize a kitchen is by using a black and white colour scheme. It will give a very chic and modern feel and at the same time this look can be created by simply using black and white accessories and paints. If there is no shortage of funds then you can always buy a new kitchen which follows this scheme.

Those, who have ample money, will not face any problem in having an entire new kitchen. However, people with limited budgets will not be able to completely refurbish their cooking spaces, but they can definitely make some important changes that can transform their current kitchen. Keeping this in view, Wilson Fink Kitchens & Interiors has listed some useful ideas below that will enable to change the look of their kitchen without spending too much.

Change Colour
You can revive the walls, cabinets and doors of your kitchen by covering them with a new paint or colour. It will not cost your much and at the same time it will transform the look of your kitchen drastically. In case, you are looking to save more money then, you can always do the paint work yourself. However, make sure that you should prepare the surfaces as per instructions. Also, ensure that you should use latex or oil-based paint.

Feature Wall
You can make a statement and add more character to your cooking space by creating a feature wall. You can use patterned or colourful wallpaper, tiles or a unique splash back in order to create a focal point.

Doors and Worktops
You can find various kitchen manufacturers, specialist companies and building merchants who provides doors, worktops and drawer fronts at reasonable prices. You can avail their service and install new doors, worktops and cabinet fronts in your kitchen to refresh it up. However, first you need to decide what kind of style you want for your kitchen only then start choosing the aforementioned things for your space. You can take clues by looking into magazines or browsing websites over internet that features latest and chic kitchen designs.

New Flooring
You can give your kitchen a new look by replacing the old flooring with new one, but you have to be careful while making the selection as it will strongly affect the feel of the space. If you have a limited budget then, vinyl flooring will remain best for you as it’s the cheapest flooring. In contrast, wood or stone flooring will obviously cost you more. Still wooden flooring is less expensive than natural or stone flooring, but as compared to vinyl it is bit more costly.

Use of Lighting
Careful use of lighting can also change the feel of a cooking space, especially if the lights are small. You can give a modern touch by using lights under the counter or spotlights to highlight a specific area. In contrast, pendant lights can help you create a country element. In case, you are looking to re-arrange the old lights in your kitchen instead of buying new ones then, it’s better to first discuss it with an electrician in order to find out various possibilities.

Note: You can bring your cost further down by finding bargains and purchasing used or second-hand items.
